Krunal Pandya, although a capped Indian player now but the all-rounder till date remains the most expensive uncapped player in IPL history after Mumbai Indians retained him for ₹8.8 crores through the Right to Match option in the auction. At that time he didn’t feature in any of the international matches for India, it was only in 2018 that he made his debut against the Caribbeans.

4) IPL Auctions 2021- Costliest Foreign (Capped) player till date

Pat Cummins became the most expensive foreign player in IPL history as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) roped him in for ₹15.5 crores in the 2020 auctions. Earlier Ben Stokes was the highest-earning foreign cricketer in IPL with a 14.5 Cr contract with the Rising Pune Supergiants.

Jofra Archer, the 25-year-old medium-pacer from West Indies playing for England became the most expensive foreign uncapped player on the day of 2018 auctions when Rajasthan Royals snapped him up for Rs.7.20 crore, an amount 36 times of his base price. The bids started from Rs.40 lakhs and breached the amounts in crores. Jofra Archer made his international debut back in 2019.
